Shark Cage Diving Gansbaai Cape Town

Everyone wishes to have an encounter with sea creatures, be it whales, dolphins or sharks. But few actually take the first step. White Shark Projects, at Gansbaai, just past Hermanus is the place to go to experience this first hand.

Your day begins with a scenic door-to-door transfer, a fabulous buffet breakfast at 'White Shark Lodge' followed by the excitement of the launch and a full adrenalin packed day at sea around Dyer Island and Geyser Rock - an area famous for its aptly named channel 'Shark Alley' and inundated with African Jackass Penguins, Cape Fur Seals and (in season) Southern Right Whales.

You watch in anticipation as chum clouds the water and the first dorsal fin appears, then the cage is gently lowered and you ready yourself for that first, electric encounter. It's a once in a lifetime rush as the solitude of the sea encases you and you come face to face with one of the most powerful predators on earth. Shark cage diving in South Africa is high adventure and an experience that will leave you breathless!

White Shark Projects also have a great social responsibility ethic and have various local Community projects running. One of their most recent projects is the Masekhane/White Shark Projects swop shop. It combines conservation, social improvement and education in a unique way. The children of Masekhane collect bottles, tins, plastics and other recyclables and bring them in bags to the White Shark 'Swop Shop'. In return, they earn buying points that they 'spend' in the shop for pencils, t-shirts or a bar of soap.
